中学英语学习者的场独立/场依存的认知方式与英语水平的关系的实证研究结果表明,镶嵌图形测试的成绩与被试者的英语成绩呈正相关性;场综合型的学生在英语水平测试中得分最高,场依存型的学生得分最低。其对外语教学的主要启示是教师应区别对待不同认知风格学生,为每个学生提供自主选择和发展的机会;鼓励学生在完善自己首选认知方式的同时,整合和发展另一种认知方式,实现英语学习最优化。
The results of the empirical research on the relationship between field independent and field-dependent cognitive styles and English proficiency of secondary school EFL learners show that there is a positive correlation between the scores of mosaic graphics test and those of English subjects. In the highest score, field-dependent students score the lowest. The main enlightenment to foreign language teaching is that teachers should treat students with different cognitive styles differently and provide each student with the opportunity of independent choice and development. Students should be encouraged to integrate and develop another kind of cognition while improving their preferred cognitive style Way to achieve the best English learning.
