The pathogenesis of selective IgA deficiency (SIgAD) is not yet fully understood. This study sought to investigate the phase of B cell differentiation in patients with SIgAD. Serum IgA in 5 patients was less than 5mg / dl. Peripheral blood lymphocytes were double-stained with immunofluorescence using RITC anti-IgA fluorescent antibody and FITC anti-IgD or IgM fluorescent antibody. The normal adult controls were used to determine the number and phenotype of B cells. The results show that the percentage of patients with IgA-B cells is lower than in adults. Most TgA-B cells are different from adults, most of the surface expression of surface IgM, IgD and IgA. This suggests that IgA-B cell maturation in SIgAD patients is hindered by the early stages of differentiation.
