Molybdenum in Animal Tissue and Body Fluid To date, molybdenum, measured in all tissues and body fluids of animals, has a lower content than manganese and little difference in species with little difference in molybdenum content in tissues and organs (see table). However, increasing molybdenum in the diet may increase the level of molybdenum in bone and liver several times. Davis increased the molybdenum content in rat feed from below 1 ppm to 30 ppm, the molybdenum level in rat bone increased from 0.2 ppm to 9-12 ppm, and liver molybdenum increased from 1-2 ppm to 11-12 ppm. The tissue’s response to changes in dietary molybdenum is greatly influenced by other ingredients in the diet, especially when it contains sulfuric acid
