The 14C age of the shell of the Hailuandong site is 6 to 8,000 years older than that of the animal skeletons in the same layer. The excavator eliminated the annual results of the shell and adopted the animal skeletal dating. First of all, from the technical point of view, the conventional 14C method for the determination of skeletal age is probably too late, and by comparing the dating results of different materials and cultural aspects of the study can be found, the shell 14C age relatively good reflection of the site Calendar age. The case study of Niulan Cave Site not only means that the site date is greatly advanced, but also provides new revelations for studying the important issues of Lingnan prehistoric archeology.
