俄罗斯工人阶级在俄罗斯历史上发挥过重要作用。在苏联解体、俄罗斯走上资本主义发展道路以后，俄罗斯工人阶级的政治与经济地位一落千丈。虽然俄罗斯工人阶级有着强烈的不满，为了维护自己的经济利益，他们也进行过斗争，但总体而言，今天的俄罗斯工人阶级实际上又重新成为一个自在阶级，目前正处于迷失方向的状态。
