湖北蕲春县云丹山山麓一带自古出产一种人们称之为“水葡萄”米的优质稻米,其营养特别丰富。唐、宋以来,历代封建统治者都把它规定为只有皇亲国戚才能享用的“贡米”。解放后,当地农民分得了土地,可自由自在品尝“水葡萄”米了。为感谢共产党、毛主席,他们于1951年10月把50公斤“水葡萄”米寄往北京,送给毛主席。没想到,月余后他们竟收到毛主席委托中央办公厅寄来的汇款单和一封令入激动信。信中说:“…钱寄上,以后再不要向中央领导人寄赠任何物资,这是我们的党纪所不能容许的……”消息传出,人们深受感动。一位年逾七旬的贫苦老农面对墙上的毛主席像恭恭敬敬地三鞠躬,然后振臂高呼:“毛主席万岁!共产党万岁!”在场
Qunchun County, Hubei Province, the foothills of the Dan Mountain produced a kind of people called “water grapes” rice quality rice, its nutrition is particularly rich. Since the Tang and Song dynasties, the feudal rulers of all ages have stipulated it as the “Gongmi” which can be enjoyed only by the relatives of the imperial families. After the liberation, the local peasants got the land and were free to taste the “water grapes” rice. To thank the Communist Party and Chairman Mao, they sent 50 kg of “water grapes” to Beijing in October 1951 and sent them to Chairman Mao. Unexpectedly, after more than a month, they actually received a letter of remittance and a letter sent by Chairman Mao to the Central Office. The letter said: “... the money will not be sent to the Central Government after sending any materials, which is our party discipline can not tolerate ... ...” The news, people moved. A poor peasant, who was over seventy years old, bowed his face respectfully to Chairman Mao on the wall and shouted: “Long live Chairman Mao! Long live the Communist Party!”
