内燃机是工农业生产、国防建设中应用广泛的动力机械。由热力学定律可知。在内燃机燃料燃烧、热能转化为机械能的过程中,必然有一部分热能释放到环境中,作为能量形式转换和能量传递的条件。柴油机热功转换效率一般为30~40%,燃料燃烧的大部分热能则通过排气、冷却介质散失在环境中,这不仅造成能量浪费,而且污染环境。
