Gene targeting of mouse homolog of interleukin-8 receptor (IL-8R) resulted in the increase of myeloid cells in the bone marrow and peripheral blood,sugesting a potential ro le of IL-8 inregulating hematopoiesis of the myeloid lineage. In order to clarify the functions of IL-8 in hematopoiesis,we examined the effect of IL-8 on the proliferation of highly purified Lin ~-Sca-1~+c-kit+as weil as Lin ~-Sca-l~-c.kit+cells from murine bone marrow.
