超声是一门新兴而应用范围很广泛的学科。解放前这門学科在国內还沒有基础,解放后不久才开始在金属探防方面应用,局面逐漸打开。1956年国家制定科学技术远景規划后,特別是大跃进以来,超声方面的工作就有了比較全面的开展。例如超声加工、清洗、銲接、乳化处理、熔金属、探伤,以及利用超声检測混凝土、測水深、採測魚羣、診断和治疗疾病等方面的应用,正在不同的程度上建立起来,基本研究也逐漸加强。由于这门学科密切結合生产,研究队伍蓬勃增长,研究任务也日益繁重,中国科学院第一次超声学术会議就是为了适应这种形势而召开的。这次会議由中国科学院武汉分院和中国科学院电子学研究所共同主持,于7月4—9日在武汉举行。参加会議的有中国科学院各分院电子学研究所和院外
Ultrasound is a new and widely used subject.
