乡村旅游是指利用乡村独特的自然环境、田园风光、生产经营状态、民俗风情、农耕文化等资源,吸引游客前往观光、游览、学习、体验、娱乐、餐饮、购物、休闲度假的旅游经营活动。随着工业化和城镇化进程的加快,北海市乡村旅游日趋活跃,一批集休闲度假、观光旅游、科普教育、生态农业体验于一体,食、住、行、游、购、娱、健于一身的综合性乡村旅游点、农业园区、休闲农庄和农家乐相继建成,实现了“大农业”和“大旅游”
