It is generally believed that the members of the revolutionaries in Shanghai used the five-colored banners during the armed uprising in Xinhai. For example, in the history of the Republic of China, when the Xinhai Revolution was held, “the CCP members used the 18-star flag in Hubei ... Chen Qimei and others used the ’Five-Colored Flag’ in Shanghai. ”Actually, this is not the case. In the Revolution of 1911, Shanghai was indeed the earliest area to use the Five-colored Flags, but it was a matter of armed reconciliation victory and the establishment of the Shanghai Military Government over a period of time. From November 3 to November 3, 1911, the revolutionaries of the Shanghai Revolutionaries When the play is also eighteen star flag. At that time, “Shen Bao” reported: at 8 o’clock on the evening of November 3, the insurgents “lined up and marched into the city, holding the red and white Republican army flags (the above eighteen stars, with the former newspapers and periodicals) ... Also be hoisted white flags and military flags. ”
