融合是市场的需要,融合是NGN发展的必经之路。宽带化和数字化的浪潮分别从两个方向催生了“家庭网络”和“数字家庭”这两个相互交织的概念。从字面上看,“家庭网络”强调家庭设备的网络化和互联功能,而“数字家庭”强调家庭设备的数字化和媒体共享功能。前者受到电信宽带运营商的大力倡导,运营商希望借助家庭网络避免被管道化,实现朝“信息服务提供商”的转型;而后者得到IT,特别是家电制造商的极力追捧,他们希望借助数字家庭这个概念突破单一设备的低价值竞争,而提供全面的数字家庭解决方案。家庭网络和数字家庭已经成为近两年来整个信息产业的热点。家庭网络已经不再是终端的概念,而是网络向用户的延伸,成为向用户提供通信、信息和娱乐视频的重要手段。
