杜威是美国著名的哲学家、教育家和社会活动家。“五四”时期应邀来到中国讲学,他的哲学、教育学和社会政治哲学在当时我国产生了较大影响,由于建国后我国左的政治路线,杜威的思想遭到了批判,改革开放后思想上的拨乱反正,杜威思想得到了重新的被研究,而今重读杜威在的社会政治哲学思想对我国当前的小康社会建设具有重大的现实意义。
Dewey is a famous American philosopher, educator and social activist. During the May Fourth Movement, he was invited to come to China to give lectures. His philosophy, pedagogy and social-political philosophy had a great impact on our country at that time.
