Benign migratory glossitis (BMG), also known as “map tongue”, is a clinically tractable inflammatory disease. Its characteristic is the tongue back mucosa. The incidence of each age group is roughly equal. Some people think that BMG has a genetic predisposition, probably polygenic. It has been demonstrated that BMG patients have more HLA-B15 tissue types. However, studies have also shown that HLA-B15 histology is also common in patients with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM). The author of this paper tries to prove the possible relationship between BMG and IDDM. The group of 87 patients, were recently diagnosed as IDDM, aged 1 to 49 years old, an average of 15.5 years old. All of them made a comprehensive oral examination, of which 82 were assayed for a total of 80 tissue antigens at the HLA-A, B, C, and D sites using the Bodmer et al.
