通过推广农业技术来达到培训农民的目的是世界各国农民技术培训所采用的主要方法。其主要目的在于通过宣传、技术培训、试验示范等手段，提高农民的科技水平和经营管理水平，改变农民的传统观念和生产、生活方式，以提高农业生产水平和农民生活质量。目前，我国农业推广培训的主要途径和方法大体可归纳为如下七种。
