This article summarizes the first 18-month trial run of the German Federal Railways Special Intercity Express (ICE) - reliability, wear resistance and life testing. The German Federal Railways-Mingden Test Center conducted follow-up tests and monitoring of the brake discs and brake pads of ICE and trailer trailers, and identified the wear values associated with kilometers traveled.
