目前对中枢神经系统(CNS)急性感染病人鞘内产生的抗体已引起人们广泛的重视。许多人提出可利用这种抗体特性对CNS感染作早期诊断。作者首次报告2例无菌性脑膜炎病人的脑脊液(CSF)中同时发现了淋巴细胞性脉络丛脑膜炎(LCM)和腮腺炎病毒抗体。对诊断为无菌性脑膜炎的157例病人(用酶联免疫吸附测定法测定CSF和血清中LCM抗体,又用补体结合试验检查了这些病人腮腺炎、麻疹等病毒以及其它微生物抗体。43例细菌性、结核性和水痘-带状疱疹脑膜炎作为对照。结果发现血清中LCM病毒抗体阳性者13例。其

Many have suggested that this antibody profile can be used for early diagnosis of CNS infection.
