5月15日,《北京晚报》以《美国<国家地理杂志>被化石贩子玩了,中国科学家戳穿‘古化石’骗局》为题,发了一篇报道,其中提到美国《国家地理杂志》报道的“古盗鸟”化石,是由两种动物化石拼接的。这一骗局是由中国年轻的科学工作者徐星揭开的。一时间王元青、徐星成了新闻人物。不久,中央电视台也对此进行了报道,使“古化石事件”更加热了起来。人们感兴趣的是,素有权威名望的美国《国家地理杂志》到底是如何被化石贩子玩的?他们又向谁道教?中国科学家是怎么戳穿“古化石”骗局的?这件事带给了我们怎样的思索?5月16日,我带着上述问题采访了当事人之一的徐星。我原以为搞古化石研究的都是一些老学究,徐星的年轻却着实让我吃了一惊。他热情、率真,我们的谈话一开始便很轻松。他告诉我,他的父母都是江苏人,60年代
