翁万戈(原名翁兴庆),1918年7月28日生于上海,是晚清两朝帝师翁同龢的五世孙,一生醉心于中国文化,爱好艺术,著有《陈洪绶》《翁同龢文献丛编》《美国顾洛阜藏中国历代书画名迹精选》等,退休后在亲自设计修建的“莱溪居”专心整理家藏。2000年,他将与他一起漂泊在外的翁氏收藏中国古籍善本永久传存于上海图书馆。2008年,他以91岁高龄护送家藏回京举办了“传承与守望——翁同龢家藏书画珍品展”。2010年7月11日,上海世界华人收藏大会组委会派康路、王默之、刘千瑜(以下简称采访者)远赴美国新罕布什尔州,在翁万戈先生的莱溪居中对他进行了采访。
Born in Shanghai on July 28, 1918, Weng Wengo (formerly Weng Xingqing) was the fifth-grandson of Weng Tonghe, an imperial examiner in the late Qing dynasty. In his life, he was obsessed with Chinese culture and loving the arts. “The United States Gu Luo Fu possession of Chinese ancient calligraphy and painting collection”, etc., after retirement in personally designed to build “Lai Creek home ” concentrate on finishing home possession. In 2000, Weng’s collection of Chinese ancient books that he is going to wander with is permanently stored in the Shanghai Library. In 2008, he escorted his family back to Beijing at the age of 91 and held “Heritage and Watch - Weng Tonghe Treasure Collection Treasures Exhibition.” On July 11, 2010, Shanghai Organizing Committee for the World Chinese Collection held a series of interviews with Pai Kanglu, Wang Mozhi, and Liu Qianyu (hereinafter referred to as interviewers) in New Hampshire, U.S.A.
