The relationship between the Yao and the ancient Yue clan is one of the important topics in the history of ethnic relations in the South and has always been valued by ethnic historians. In the early 1960s, there was Yao originating from the “mountain Yue” one. In recent years, there has been some discussion on this issue. Recently, Comrade Li Jin clearly pointed out: “The modern Yao ethnic group has developed from the ancient Yue people.” ① Yao is the later. Some people think that the two have nothing to do with it. The author believes that the relationship between Yao is more complex, active and stream two aspects, to a specific analysis, can not be simply affirmed or denied. This article attempts to discuss the relationship between Yao and Yue from both sources and sources according to the records of the literature, the archeology and ethnology materials, and the comparative method. Inappropriate place, I urge you all to correct me.
