Objective To investigate the effect of early intervention on the physical and intellectual development of premature infants. Methods 128 cases of premature children were randomly divided into intervention group and control group. The intervention group was given routine child system management and parents were instructed by the pediatrician to conduct daily home training and follow-up on a regular basis. The control group was given routine child system management only. Two groups of preterm infants were regularly assessed by physical and intellectual development. Results The body length and weight of the intervention group were better than those of the control group (P <0.01). The levels of intelligence development and psychomotor development in the intervention group were higher than those in the control group (P <0.01), both of which were statistically significant. Conclusion Early intervention is beneficial to the physical and intellectual development of premature infants.
