简笔画在课堂教学中有简洁和可操作性、直观性,能吸引学生的注意力,引起他们的学习兴趣。简笔画在拼音字母教学、字词教学、古诗词教学、口语交际教学中的作用是显而易见的:充分调动学生的学习兴趣;能使课文内容及语言化难为易,帮助学生理解文章的难点;克服农村小学缺少实物模型等客观条件的限制,加强课堂教学的直观性、形象性,有助于加深学生对课文内容的理解,培养学生的兴趣、想象力和思维能力,逐步培养学生的动手能力。
