世界科学成就日新月异,知识创造周期和更新周期明显缩短,使高校教师急需掌握一门、两门乃至数门外语,以便更快更直接地从世界知识宝库中汲取营养。派往国外去进修、考察及与外国高校之间的校际交流的增多,外国学者来我国讲学的频繁,在一定程度上也促进了高校教师学习外语的积极性的提高。华东师大教师业余进修学校的外语进修班,就是在这种形势中逐渐发展起来的,目前有英语、俄语、日语、法语、德语五个语种,共十多个班级,400多名学员。从年龄层次上看,他们中既有青年人,又有中老年人,从职称、职务上看,既有青年助教与讲师,
With the ever-changing scientific achievements in the world, the cycle of knowledge creation and the refreshment cycle have been significantly shortened, making it imperative for university teachers to master one, two or even a few foreign languages in order to draw nutrition faster and more directly from the world’s knowledge base.
