Routine paraffin HE sections and Warthin Starry silver staining were performed on 833 gastric biopsy specimens. In case of seeing Campylobacter, selective scanning electron microscopy was performed. As a result, Campylobacter is present in the mucous layer of the mucosal surface or in close proximity to the epithelial and gastric pits and the glandular epithelial surface, even to the epithelium; silver-stained bacteria appear dark brown
