  1. — My name’s Jenny.
  我叫詹妮。
  — I’m Gina. Nice to meet you.
  我是吉娜,很高兴见到你。
  My name is...意为“我的名字是……”,是介绍自己名字的正规用语。My name’s是My name is的缩写形式。
  注意:初次见面时,自我介绍是社交礼貌,一般先介绍自己的名字。如:
  — My name is Tony.
  我的名字叫托尼。
  — My name is Linda. Nice to meet you.
  我叫琳达,见到你我很高兴。
  My name is...也可以说I am...,或缩写成I’m...,要显得随意,非正式些。
  当两个人在某地初次见面时,常用Nice to meet you. 来表示问候,此句型等于It’s nice to meet you. 其答语应为:Nice to meet you, too. 如:
  — Hello, Nick. Nice to meet you!
  你好,尼克。见到你很高兴!
  — Hello, Jack. Nice to meet you, too!
  你好,杰克。见到你我也很高兴!
  类似的说法还有:
  Nice to see you!
  Glad to meet (see) you!
  I’m glad to meet (see) you!
  Good to see you here.
  2. — What’s your name?
  你叫什么名字?
  — Alan.
  艾伦。
  What’s your name? 是用来询问对方叫什么名字的特殊疑问句,一般是上级对下级,长者对年轻人、同学同事或平辈之间才这样说。回答用My name is...,也可以简单地说出名字。如想反问可说And you? 或And what’s your name?如:
  —What’s your name?
  你叫什么名字?
  —My name is Li Lei.
  我叫李雷。
  询问对方姓名时还可用以下较客气的说法:
  May I know your name, please?
  Could I have your name, please?
  Your name, please?
  3. — Are you Helen?
  你是海伦吗?
  — Yes, I am.   是的,我是。
  — Is he Jack?
  他是杰克吗?
  — No, he isn’t.
  不,他不是。
  这两个问句都是以系动词are,is开头的一般疑问句,相应的回答如下:
  Is he Jack? Yes, he is./No, he isn’t. His name’s Mike.
  Are you Helen? Yes, I am./No, I’m not. I’m Gina.
  Are you...? 你是……吗?这一句型不宜随便乱用,应用在知道对方的名字有可能就是你所问的这一个,以希望对方核实一下时使用。如果对方回答“不是”时,应向对方作适当的道歉,以示自己认错人了,常用I’m sorry. 对不起。对Are you...? 这一句型的肯定回答为Yes, I am. 是的,我是;否定回答为No, I’m not. 不,我不是。

  物主代词
  表示所有关系的代词叫物主代词,本课所介绍的是形容词性物主代词,它们一般放在所修饰名词的前面,同时它们也有人称和数的变化。形容词性物主代词的前后是不出现冠词的,这是在书写句子时最容易犯的错误。如:my father,his desk,our room,their names,your aunt等。
  形容词性物主代词的用法
  形容词性物主代词起形容词作用,在句中只能作定语,也就是说它后面必须跟一个名词,如:
  This is my bike.
  这是我的自行车。
  Miss Gao is your English teacher.
  高小姐是你们的英语老师。
  I don’t know her name.
  我不知道她的名字。
  本课所学形容词性物主代词见下表:

  be动词的用法
  am,is,are这三个动词,汉语意思均为“是”,在英语表达中起着重要的作用,现就其基本用法归纳如下:
  1. am,is,are这三个动词常用作连系动词,用来表示人或事物的性质、状态等,在句中起连接主语和表语的作用,相当于主语和表语之间的一座桥梁,如:
  I am a teacher.
  我是一名老师。
  This is my mother.
  这是我妈妈。
  You are a student.
  你是一名学生。
  2. am,is,are的基本意思是“是”,但应注意的是汉语有时不译出“是”,翻译成英语句子时切不可遗漏“是”(am,is,are),否则就会出现“无‘是’生非”的现象,如:
  — What’s your name?
  你叫什么名字?
  — My name is Zhang Ce.
  我叫张策。
  3. 记住它们与主语的搭配:
  I + am; you + are;she / he / it + is
  注意:I am =I’m His name is=His name’s

  family name=last name,意为“姓氏”;first name意为“名字”。英美人姓和名的顺序正好与中国人的姓与名相反,英美人姓在后,名在前,并且姓常与Mr,Miss,Ms连用,如:My full name is James Green. Green is my family name. 我的全名是詹姆斯·格林。格林是我的姓。   2. — What’s your telephone number, Li Xin?
  李新,你的电话号码是多少?
  — It’s 281-9176.
  是281-9176。
  What’s...number? 是用来对自行车牌号、房间号、电话号码、身份证号码等进行提问的特殊疑问句,what在此句中是“多少”的意思,其答语是“It’s + 号码”。此外还有另一种形式:What’s the number of...? 如:
  — What’s the number of your car?
  你的车牌号码是多少?
  — It’s 621238.
