准噶尔盆地沙漠大然梭梭林,由于人为的干扰破坏,其分布面积1982年比1958年减少68.4%,沙漠化面积扩大1,298万亩,严重地影响着农牧业生产的发展.但沙漠气候干燥、降水稀少、水源缺乏,梭梭林自然恢复和发展十分困难.据了解,以色列尼格夫沙漠年降水量50—80毫米,人们利用集水方法成功地进行“径流农业”生产;苏、美、澳大利亚等国对沙漠地区径流水的利用也作过较系统的研究.据历年气象资料,准噶尔盆地沙漠边缘地带年降水量100毫米左右,冬季有稳定积雪,其它季节有降雨,雨水常以阵雨形式降落,因而有产生地表径流的降水条件.实地调查表明,这里有许多地势平坦的丘间地和撩荒地,地表板结,在一定降水条件下产生地表径流,唯量小而分散,可以采用集水方法将其贮存于小范围土壤中,营造需水较少的梭梭等旱生灌木林.1983—1985年,我们在准噶尔盆地沙漠南缘莫索湾地区进行了梭梭集水造林试验,面积为350亩,保存率90%左右.据此可以认为,在北疆各沙漠边缘采用集水方法营造梭梭林是有前途的.
