2月14日,是西方传统的圣瓦伦丁节,又称“情人节”。许多国家和地区都有发行情人节邮票的传统,而象征爱情的爱心又是情人节邮票最常见的设计形式。2015年1月30日,斯洛文尼亚邮政发行一枚情人节邮票(图1),面值为0.40欧元。主题为木链子连接的两个木勺,这是斯洛文尼亚一种传统的结婚礼物。这种木勺链的各个组成部分都是一块完整木头雕刻出来的,显示出精湛的木工手艺。据说现在的斯洛文尼亚只有一位手工艺人还能制造这种结婚礼物了。
February 14, is the traditional St. Valentine’s Day in the West, also known as “Valentine’s Day.” In many countries and regions, there is a tradition of issuing Valentine’s Day stamps, and the love symbolizing love is the most common form of design for Valentine’s Day stamps. On January 30, 2015, Slovenia Post issued a Valentine’s Day stamp (Figure 1) with a face value of € 0.40. The theme is two wooden spoons linked by wooden chains, a traditional wedding gift from Slovenia. The various components of the wooden spoon chain are carved out of a complete piece of wood, showing superb carpentry skills. It is said that only one artisan in Slovenia can still make such a wedding present.
