2008年8月30日16时30分,四川省攀枝花市仁和区与四川省凉山彝族自治州会理县交界处(北纬26.2度,东经101.9度)发生了6.1级地震。仁和区大龙潭乡拉□村是此次地震震中,位于攀枝花市区东南约50公里,地震波及云南省的永仁、元谋、武定、大姚等县。地震后余震不断,8月31日下午又发生了一次比较强的余震,震级达到5.6级,使得地震灾情加重。
At 16:30 on August 30, 2008, a magnitude 6.1 earthquake hit Renhe District, Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province and Huili County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, at the junction of 26.2 degrees north latitude and 101.9 degrees east longitude. Lahe Village, Longtan Township, Renhe District, was the epicenter of the earthquake and was located about 50 kilometers southeast of Panzhihua Urban Area. The earthquake affected counties such as Yongren, Yuanmou, Wuding and Dayao in Yunnan Province. Aftershocks continued after the earthquake and a strong aftershock took place again on the afternoon of August 31, reaching 5.6 magnitude, making the earthquake worse.
