New Concept English was written as the "answer to the problem". The problem was that students of English worldwide were spending years learning a lot of bits and pieces, but there was no plan,and tile learning did not lead anywhere. So Louis created a work that began at zero and continued step by step to fluency in English. As Lao Tzu said, "the longest journey begins with a single step."
