In her novel “Purple”, she paints a vivid description of the inner world of black women and the creativity they have, exposing the difficult situation of black women and the twists and turns of their struggle. This process also fully reflects the author’s understanding of black women and their exploration of the road to liberation. In Purple, a group of black sisters, represented by Celie, sought to liberate themselves through writing, resistance, sewing, singing, traveling and so on, creating their own nature and finally getting rid of shackles and becoming a free woman with dignity and personality.
