Tolay Industries, in conjunction with a research group at the Chiba University School of Medicine, developed a pocket sensor that continuously monitors blood glucose levels and simply takes one electrode in the body to obtain measurements. The new sensor uses dimethylferrocene and the enzyme in the electrode to react with glucose to measure changes in the current associated with glucose concentration. The electrode consists of 1000 carbon fibers with a diameter of 7 μm and is bonded together with an epoxy resin and covered with a biocompatible film group
