恩师郑杭生先生致力于中国社会学理论自觉的哲学思考、实证研究和方法论倡导及推广,对推动中国社会学创新发展、对推动中国整个学术界创新发展,乃至对推动世界社会学的创新发展做出了难以估量的重大贡献;在践行自己创立的“顶天立地”学术研究道路的同时,为学术界找到了“理论自觉”的现实基础,从而使社会学的“理论自觉”由抽象的思辨具体化为可操作的研究路径。基于实地调研的思考,恩师对临安市新型城镇化实践予以充分的肯定与鼓励,并针对存在的问题给予建设性指导,成为该市新型城镇化可持续发展的重要推动力量,也成为恩师实践“草根精神”的范例。恩师不顾高龄,仍然坚持亲临实践第一线,仍然带领团队成员坚持全天候的实地调研,其严谨的学风和身先士卒的研究努力,既是恩师自己学术团队的宝贵财富,也为社会学领域的研究者,乃至为当代中国所有研究者树立起了典范。
