The vigorous development of groundwater has become an urgent task for the development of industrial and agricultural production, urban water supply and support for the third world revolution and construction. China’s deepwater wells need to use cast iron pipes and steel pipes, which consumes a large amount of steel, copper and lead wire every year to produce deep well water filtration pipes. Due to the chemical, electrochemical, stray currents of groundwater and the corrosion of iron bacteria, the filter pipes have a short life span. In areas with severe groundwater corrosion in places like Tianjin, Xinxiang, Wuhan and Hangzhou, the service life of the water filter pipes is very short. In the two or three years to seven years, the corrosion has deteriorated and the longevity of the well has been seriously threatened, directly affecting industrial and agricultural production and urban water supply. In foreign aid, especially in aiding West African countries, these countries have relatively poor water quality and serious corrosion. Iron pipes are generally scrapped in one or two years.
