朔里煤矿开采淮北闸河煤田中段二叠纪石盒子组及山西组煤层。井田储量丰富,煤层沉积稳定,构造较简单。从已揭发采区看来,区内中、小型褶曲及落差小于5m 的正断层发育,煤层倾角5°～20°。直接顶板层理发育,大多由两层或两层以上岩层组成,人们称之为复合顶板。复合顶板岩体性质、岩层组成及结构较为复杂,大面积垮落事故经常发生。威胁工作面安全生产。
