作为文化的一部分,语言深深地植根于其所属的民族文化的土壤之中。外语教学中,必须重视文化背景知识的分析与讲解。本文从宗教信仰、价值理念和风俗习惯等三个方面对《21世纪大学英语读写教程》中出现的文化现象进行了分析,说明了文化在英语教学中的作用。
As part of culture, language is deeply rooted in the soil of the ethnic culture to which it belongs. In foreign language teaching, we must attach importance to the analysis and explanation of cultural background knowledge. This article analyzes the cultural phenomena appearing in the “21st Century College English Reading and Writing Course” from the aspects of religious belief, value concept and custom. It shows the function of culture in English teaching.
