目前对铸铁中石墨的生长虽然已有很好的了解,但对其成核过程仍有争论。为了有助于解决争端——石墨成核是出现在液态还是固态——我们研究了石墨颗粒的空间分布。假若成核过程发生在固态中,则将可发现石墨颗粒在晶粒边界处呈聚集状分布;如果成核过程发生在液态中,其空间分布将是无规则的。在此情况下,基体中相邻两颗粒间截取的直线长度的分布f(L),近似符合在一直线上任意两点的分布,可由下式给定:
At present, although the growth of graphite in cast iron has been well understood, its nucleation process is still controversial. To help resolve the dispute - whether graphite nucleation occurs in liquid or solid state - we studied the spatial distribution of graphite particles. If the nucleation takes place in the solid state, it will be found that the graphite particles are aggregated at the grain boundaries; if the nucleation takes place in the liquid state, the spatial distribution will be random. In this case, the distribution of the length f (L) of a straight line intercepted between two adjacent particles in the matrix approximately corresponds to the distribution of any two points in a straight line and can be given by:
