三峡水利枢纽(美Ⅷ坝段)土石方开挖工程中有溢流坝及非溢流坝的坝基开挖,明厂房基础及地下式、半地下式厂房的开挖,厂房的引水工程,尾水工程,通航建筑物的闸厢及渠道的开挖以及配电站基础的开挖等等,其总方量计达6,660万公方,其中岩石为3,760万公方,风化层为3,900万公方。开挖深度在船闸部份最大为100公尺左右,在基础部份一般则为10～20公尺,最深达50公尺。在尾水渠及船闸进出水口处尚有一部份水下石方开挖。上述土石方工程数量内尚未包括混凝土骨料的开采,施工场地的平整,交通运输路线的开挖以及航道疏浚等在内,突际施工的土石方数量将大大地
