Neiguan (PC 6) was first described in Miraculous Pivot · Meridians (《灵枢·经脉》), where Neiguan (PC 6) was stated as a point located 2 cun above the transverse crease of the wrist and between the tendons of m. palmaris longus and m. flexor radialis. As it is connected to the pericardium, it can be used to treat precordial pain due to excess or rigidity in the head due to deficiency. Being a Luo-connecting point of the Pericardium Meridian of the Hand-Jueyin, Neiguan (PC 6) is also connected with certain intal organs and can be used in treatment of various related diseases. That is why it is widely used clinically. Using Neiguan (PC 6) as a main point, and applying different reinforcing and reducing maneuvers and adjunct points, the authors have treated many kinds of diseases, and achieved quite satisfactory therapeutic effects.
