The symposium on the construction and development of the Tongliao railway hub sponsored by the Railway Transport Research Institute of China Railway Society, the editorial department of “China Railway” and the railway society of Zheli League of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region was held in Tongliao from August 9 to 11, 1995 . Thirty-eight representatives from 14 units in operation, design, construction, education and scientific research attended the meeting.
