I plant a 3 tons / hour two rows of large-spaced cold cupola (row spacing of 600mm). A few years ago the use of the effect has been good, the hot metal temperature stabilized at 1400 ℃ above, fully able to meet production needs. However, the temperature of molten iron has dropped recently, and the bridge burns heavily (life expectancy drops from 40 to 60 to 10 to 20 hours). After analysis, we confirm that due to the decline of coke quality. The coke we used in the past has a fixed carbon content of more than 80% and is currently used only 70-73% with less strength. The firing distance of the cupola in our factory is 1.1 times of the diameter of the furnace in the tuyere area, which fully meets the size requirements. But why the temperature of hot metal drops after the fixed carbon content of coke declines under the same iron-carbon ratio? To solve this problem, we set out to adjust some parameters,
