Objective To meet the needs of breast milk in premature children and promote their growth and development. Methods Breastfeeding guidance was given to mothers of suckling preterm infants. 96 non-sucking preterm infants were divided into group A (48 cases) and group B (48 cases). Group A was fed with breast-feeding tube, while group B was given whole-vein nutrition with glucose, protein and electrolytes. The growth and development of preterm infants in the two groups were compared after 10 days. The results ensured breastfeeding of premature infants who were able to suck in preterm infants and in group A, with a significant increase in body weight in group A and fewer complications in group A than in group B. CONCLUSIONS: Infants born to stomach-fed breast-fed milk have a faster rate of weight gain and fewer complications than those given intravenous fluids, most of whom need breast-fed premature babies.
