到七十年代中期,在苏联和外国卫星通信地面站上,改进镜表面形状的双镜轴对称天线得到最广泛的使用。天线的主镜面直径在一类站上为25至30米,二类站上为12米,移动站上2.5至11米。付反射器的改进是有这样的打算,即射到它中心部分的波能重新射向主镜的园周部分,并且使得口面上的场分布接近于均匀。这时在主镜口面上的同相性的破坏,由于其表面形状的改进而得到补偿。
By the mid-1970s, the dual-mirror symmetrical antenna with improved mirror surface shape was the most widely used at the Soviet and foreign satellite communications ground stations.
