Bamboo distribution in the Yellow River Basin, has attracted the attention of some researchers. Some think: “Thousands of years ago bamboo was widely grown in the Yellow River basin, and now it is impossible.” Some came to the conclusion that the climate of ancient river valleys is like today’s climate in the river. Others said: “Although the distribution of bamboo species in the Yellow River Basin has changed in history, its extent of change is not too large, which can not be confirmed.” This paper attempts to explore the history and current status of bamboo forests in the Yellow River Basin of China and their potential for development and production. The history of bamboo distribution in the Yellow River Basin According to archaeological and ancient records, there are traces of bamboo rats in the Banpo village site (4500-4700 BC) near Xi’an in Shaanxi Province and Yin Ruins in Anyang (about 1400 BC-1100 BC). Longshan cultural relics in Licheng County, Shandong Province, there is a bamboo charcoal, unearthed some pottery looks like bamboo. This shows Neolithic, bamboo distribution in the Yellow River until the eastern coast. Inscriptions unearthed in the oracle bone “簋”, “笰”, “箙” and other words
