萨克马尔谱系的弓笔石,其主枝均为对数螺线形。这个谱系中每个分子的主枝形态都可用相应的对数螺线表示。文中给出数学模拟弓笔石体形的数学原理及方法步骤。弓笔石旋圈的紧密度和弯曲程度的减小,可由a值的增大反映出来;旋圈变松可使笔石虫扩大其取食范围,获得较多食物;而且随着层位变高,该谱系中各个分子的a值显著增大,因而可把a值作为弓笔石划分种的标准。

High, the a value of each molecule in the pedigree increases significantly, so that the value of a can be used as the standard for the classification of arches.
