党的十六届四中全会以加强党的执政能力建设为主题,明确提出了构建社会主义和谐社会的奋斗目标。和谐社会是全体人民各尽其能、各得其所而又和谐相处的社会,是一个经济、政治、文化和社会协调发展的社会,是一个庞大的系统工程。做好劳动和社会保障工作,是构建社会主义和谐社会的重要方面。这要求我们劳动保障工作者在建设社会主义和谐社会的进程中,必须增强做好劳动保障工作的责任感和使命感,以“三个代表”重要思想和科学发展观为指引,全力做好各项劳动保障工作,推动劳动保障事业全面协调健康发展,为建设社会主义和谐社会做出应有的贡献。
