The Huangpu River, which is famous both at home and abroad, is expected to change its appearance at the beginning of the next century. Shanghai Municipal Planning Bureau and other relevant departments are making careful plans to build this golden waterway into a famous tourist attraction. More than 120 transportation terminals have been gathered on the banks of the Huangpu River across Shanghai’s downtown area. These terminals have made indelible contributions during the development and rise of Shanghai for more than a hundred years. With the economic development, Shanghai’s industrial and commercial structure has undergone significant changes, and the transportation market structure has also changed from the original bulk cargo.
