Nitroglycerin has been used in the treatment of angina for more than 100 years and is by far the most commonly used anti-anginal drug in clinic. Before the seventies, nitroglycerin is generally considered to be disabled during acute myocardial infarction. The past 10 years, some animal experiments and clinical observations show that nitroglycerin may reduce the infarct size, and can control the heart failure complicated by acute myocardial infarction, suggesting that its treatment of acute myocardial infarction has a certain value. It is still controversial whether nitroglycerin should be used in acute myocardial infarction. Some domestic hospitals advocate the routine use of nitric acid glycerol in patients with acute myocardial infarction, and some hospitals still adhere to “prohibit nitroglycerin in acute myocardial infarction” commandment. Whether or not to use nitrate when acute myocardial infarction
