矿山測量中,通过豎井並简將地面坐标方位角傳递至井下道線的定向測量工作,一般采用重錘吊線投点法。但因並筒內气流急遽,吊線摆动极难稳定靜止,尤其生产矿山,运輸繁忙,而吊線、量距、联系观測等工作极为繁复,需要停止生产运輸的时間較多,且定向精度,常限于並筒断面的面积甚小,兩吊線間之距离不能侭量放長,致使定向結果不能达到理想要求。
