缺乏制度性宗教信仰的中国人如何满足生命价值需求,是理解中国文化与中国社会生活的急需回答的一个问题。两位作者分别在《做人之道》与《礼与生命价值》这两部著作中给予回答,《做人之道》在费孝通先生等开辟的“熟人社会”这一社会学理论框架下进行阐述,《礼与生命价值》则重点阐发了新儒学开辟的“道德替宗教”的文化命题。前者揭示农民人格在社会关系中的延展,后者分析农民有限人生向无限价值的超越,共同回答了中国人的内在超越方式,二者相辅相成,构筑形成具有重要意义的学术研究。
How Chinese people lacking systematic religious faith can meet the needs of life value is an urgent question to understand Chinese culture and Chinese social life. The two authors respectively give answers in the two works of “The Way of Life” and “The Value of Etiquette and Life,” “The Way of Life” in the sociological theoretical frame of “acquaintance society” opened up by Mr. Fei Xiaotong, The etiquette and the value of life emphasize the cultural proposition of “morality for religion” developed by neo-Confucianism. The former reveals the extension of farmer’s personality in social relations. The latter analyzes the transcendence of limited peasants’ limited life to infinite value and jointly answers the inherent transcendence way of Chinese people. The two complement each other and form an academic research of great significance.
