A great deal of research has been done on the hydrolysis of O, S-dialkyl dithiophosphates from O, O-dihydrocarbyl and S-hydrocarbyl dithiophosphates in a base. Photometric analysis of copper with carbon dithiophosphate in carbon tetrachloride has been reported. A series of O, S-dihydrocarbyl dithiophosphates were synthesized by O-hydrocarbyl thiophosphoric acid dichloride, rearrangement and rehydrolysis with hydrogen sulphide. The method is easy and low cost. This synthesis method and the photometric determination of metal ions using these compounds have not been reported. In this paper, we studied the compound No. 4, ie, racemic O-isopropyl S-methyl phosphorodithioate
